Another X-Scientology Customer Writes to Tory

Dear Tory:

I want to say how much I admire your courage and how impressed I am that even after so many years in scientology you have retained, or perhaps regained such a warm and sincere personality.

And I am so pleased and so grateful that there are people like you who speak and act out of love for all mankind.

I have seen several of your videos and plan to check out your site more.

Who am I? My name is Shera....well actually it's not my birth name but Shera is who I think of myself as now.

I have never been in scientology and up until a very short while ago I had no idea of what a cult it was. I have been kicked around enough by fundamentalist religion so I dont actually give much energy or curiosity to any religion.

tom cruise may be a hunk but that doesn't mean I need to know who he worships.

At my local library I picked up the book l ron Hubbard; Messiah or Madman. And I was floored! Who is this guy and how has he been able to cast such a swath of pain across the planet, ever since before I was born(in 1955) without me ever hearing about it??!!

And I felt such pain and compassion for so many who have been tricked into this cult. Pain for the huge numbers of bright, wonderful and precious human beings who have been attracted by what scientology offered and been sold something very different indeed.

I am not against scientology, I am not for scientology. I am for freedom. Freedom to believe what one chooses, freedom to do what makes one happy, without judgment or punishment.

My internet search eventually led me to you as well as Operation Clambake.

I am sorry for the loss of your friends and your husband. I send them all love and I know in my heart that each one of them is still bright and precious and wonderful. As we all are. Granted, we have all made mistakes...it is part of life.

I hold the hope that some time they will all find their own inner strength to make their own choices. To find the information that they need to be free.

No battle lines. No conflict. No us-and-them. Just love and support for my whole human family.

I think you are delightful! Happy, funny, sincere and such an authentic human being. Thank you for you!

I don't want to monopolize your time hon, I just wanted to drop by, show you my thanks and appreciation and offer help if there is anything I can do in this matter.

I do have a deep interest in my own spiritual awakening but I don't feel the need to foist my beliefs or journey on others. Each person in their own way is my teacher.

I do not wish to offer you spiritual counseling or anything of that nature. No doubt you have had more than a lifetime's worth of that already. What you think or believe is your own personal choice.

I just accept you as you are.
I offer my friendship.
